Under Maintenance!

Dec 09, 2021--In an effort to ensure quality deliverables, Information Communication Technology (ICT) operatives in the Ministry of Communications, Science and Technology (MCST) are attending a two-day team building workshop in Maseru starting today (Thursday).


The objective of the team building is to promote solidarity and focus amongst staff so as to attain department set goals and target, identify challenges and map way forward.


When officiating the team building workshop, Acting Principal Secretary (PS) in the Ministry, Mrs. ‘Mabataung Khalane said ICT plays a critical role towards human development through provision of internet services needed in health centres amongst others.


She highlighted the need for ICT team to join hands, take responsibility and avoid sabotaging Government systems, adding that Government is in the process of moving from old ways of doing things (paper) to digitalising services hence the need for ICT staff to be committed towards service delivery.


Director Human Resource, Ms. Likeleli Mphaloane reminded staff their role in rendering their services so as to be remunerated for services already offered. Furthermore, she highlighted the importance of codes and ethics in line with Public Service Act.


In an interview with the Government Spokesperson Office, Acting Director General ICT, Mr. Khiba Masiu mentioned that the management found it befitting to offer motivation and counselling service to staff as they deal with internet connectivity and maintenance so as to implement the work of Government effectively.


Meanwhile, as part of motivating staff, Mr. Tsépiso Sesioana, Counsellor and CEO Stress Management Centre offered counselling session to these team.


ICT is one of the seven department in the Ministry of Communications entrusted with the responsibility to help the Ministry achieve its vision of being a leader in technology.
