June 14, 2021...THE NEW MINISTER OF COMMUNICATIONS, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, HONOURABLE TS'OINYANA RAPAPA met with staff today.
Sharing his message to staff, he calls all particularly ICT to ensure access to technological services so as to meet the demand in today's world especially seeing the Ministry is spearheading e-Government project which is now taking longer than expected.
Talking to Administration department, he said this sector should deliver without fear nor favour but avoid ill-treating staff unnecessarily urging all to talk to each other so as to resolve conflict.
“My major responsibility and that of Principal Secretary is to be advised so that wise decisions can be taken in relation to growing the Ministry.”
He said all employees who deserve promotions should be promoted fairly adding staff should not only be ambitious but work hard as well.
He talked about the issue the Minister of Communications as a Government Spokesperson that this role aims to ensure Government becomes pro active in addressing public issues though there are some challenges.
LNBS Acting Director General, Ms. Mothepane Kotele said these are employees of the Ministry of Communications who are willing to deliver as they do not belong to a particular Minister.
She highlights the Minister to speak strongly in Parliament about budget allocations so that MCST can be able to attain its goals.
Talking about challenges, she said employees are demotivated due to structures that hinders promotions amongst them, a matter which she said should be addressed to improve moral.
Again, she calls the Minister to ensure unity and solidarity amongst staff especially during activities and events of the Ministry.
On behalf of staff, Director Human Resource, Ms. Likeleli Mphaloane assures the Minister all are ready and willing to deliver to the best of their abilities. “All we want is guidance and support from the Minister.”
