May 06, 2022...The Director of Science and Technology in the Ministry of Communications, Science and Technology (MCST) expressed appreciation to MCST stakeholders for actively participating at the digestion workshop on  Technology Needs Assessment Report for Lesotho.


Mr. Lefa Thamae said this when officially closing a three-day workshop that brought together UN family, experts in science including various stakeholders of the Ministry so as to deliberate on the TNA report.


He is adamant that without support of these sectors, particularly United Nations Technology Bank, efforts to undertake this assignment would have been futile.


Meanwhile, NUL Vice Chancellor, Professor Isaac Olusola Fajana said locally many are still reluctant to opt and rely to use of technology as a means of getting work done quickly. However, he said it is impressing how youth today seem to be embracing technology. He further acknowledged the assessment which he said will go a long way towards transforming Lesotho for the better.


Other speakers included the UN family  as well as the United Nations Technology Bank representative who delivered his sentiments virtually, thus applauding Lesotho through the Ministry of Communications for not wanting to be left behind in as far as  developing the country projects aligned to technology.


Lesotho is one of the 33 countries that are being supported by the said bank  to undertake developmental and yet technological projects so as to grow. It is one of the first African countries to be implementing recommendations of TNA.
