Sept 22, 2021...The Ministry of Communications, Science and Technology (MCST) donated 10 computers (laptops) to Ntaote high school, Thaba-Tseka earlier today.
The Minister of Communications, Honourable Ts’oinyana Rapapa handed over the computers to the school on behalf of the Ministry.
Handing over the gesture, he highlighted the significant role computers play during this era of technology.
Additionally, he called eligible citizens to get vaccinated against Covid-19 as a means of curbing the virus.
Moreover, he appealed to those who are going to be using these computers to protect them, thus ensure their effective use.
Accepting the gesture, Ntaote high school board member, Mr. Jonase Lekhanya said despite challenges facing students and teachers in this school, Ntaote remain one of the neat schools in the district of Thaba-Tseka, saying they deserve the honour of being given these computers.
Mr. Lekhanya who also presented Ntaote high school hat to the Minister of Communications as a token of appreciation, thanked the Minister and the entire Government of Lesotho for having thought of his school.
Similarly, the Principal Mr. Kakafa Tau appealed to the Minister to further consider giving an extra 30 computers to make a total of 40, noting that the school has only 10 teachers looking up to 700 students, the more reason why they need more computers.
On behalf of students, Toka Ts'oeu mentioned that these computers will go a long way in helping students do their academic researches, thereby improve their school work. “Computers are vital and we will forever be thankful for the gift,” he underlined.
The Ministry of Communications, currently on Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) roll out countrywide is tasked with the responsibility to ensure effective communication through use of modern infrastructure.
Forming Minister’s delegation at this event was the Principal Secretary (PS), Mrs. ‘Mabataung Khalane and management of the Ministry including MCST media team while Thaba-Tseka community was led by the District Administrator, Mr. Motete Mokonyane including teachers and students of Ntaote high school.
