May 05, 2022...Lesotho Science and Mathematics Teachers Association (LSMTA) presented awards to Mr. Lefa Thamae, Director of Science and Technology in the Ministry of Communications, Science and Technology (MCST).

These awards, (certificate and trophy) were presented by the Minister of Communications, Honourable Tsóinyana Rapapa to Mr. Thamae. In the same way, Mr. Sello Takalimane who is an Assistant Research Officer was also honoured for his usual support to the association as well.

In his speech, the Minister congratulated Mr. Thamae and his team saying today’s awards are meant to mark the start of the journey with successes and challenges.

He highlighted the importance of science and mathematics subjects in growing the economy of the country, hence the need for students to also develop love and passion for these subjects.

Additionally, he commended LSMTA for acknowledging the work done in relation to innovation by the department of Science and Technology within MCST.

These awards according to the President of LSMTA, Mr. Justice Bobby Mapheko articulated that Mr. Thamae is a humble and dedicated Leader full of wisdom, adding that he had gone an extra-mile to support activities of the association.

Therefore, he wished him well in his mandate of ensuring that efforts meant to strive innovation are successful. He further indicated that they will soon hold science olympia on line, thus urging for more support from the Ministry.

In the same note, Mr. Thamae strongly thanked LSMTA for remembering and honouring him as a servant, further highlighting the need for those holding senior positions to be humble when dealing with colleagues.
